Snow day

6.30 am text: School closed today. Check website for updates.

Nothing is better than waking up in the cold and the dark, being told you don't have to go to work, you can stay in bed. Nothing.

  1. watching Twin Peaks on the laptop and drinking damn fine coffee.

And talking to myself on the internet, as everyone else is at work.

  2. I still have to work even though I'm at home. Sulk. Although, by 'work' I mean 'making up lies to put into a powerpoint' so I probably shouldn't complain.

If I wasn't actually properly snowed in for real, I'd come over to yours and throw snowballs at you.

  3. Boo! Are you really properly snowed in? You could still sled with junior, though he might not appreciate it as much as you. Why does this country grind to a halt when it snows? Canadian colleagues think we're mad.

Just remembered Thursday is also a) planning after work day and b) the day I cover for the demon children of 1U. RESULT!

  4. Sort of. We certainly can't get the car out. I could have got the train to work, they were running intermittently, but it's forecast to get worse over the course of the day and I didn't want to risk getting stuck in central London and not getting home until midnight.

  5. But in your fast-moving glamorous hi-tech industry you don't need to, like, actually be there physically, right? I wish I could say the same about my job.
