I've been feeling the same way for a while. There's a general election coming up in Ireland and there was a time when there would have been heaps of good blog-posts on the matter. Now there's virtually nothing out there because everyone's fucking tweeting about it instead. Which is fine, I guess, but I really couldn't be arsed wading through all the dross in order to read one or two worthwhile sentences.
I'm hoping it'll all turn out to be a fad, but I suspect otherwise. Something new that doesn't require such a massive loss of privacy or pithy inanities would be great.
Andrew, I know... I think it will be with us for a while but then it will be superseded by something else. Maybe we'll all have our own little personal LCD displays like Jenny Holzer's to carry around.
It started off as a bookcrossing blog, in which I left my books on the Central Line, hoping someone would pick them up and comment on them here. It has morphed into, er, this. So if you showed up looking for something about bookcrossings and books... look here or here instead
Please don't you stop blogging.
ReplyDeleteIan beat me to it.

What about standing on a street corner and shouting like a loony?
ReplyDeleteIan and BiB, okay, but only if you start.

Tim, your idea has appeal, I must confess
Tumblr? This is much more about images than words (commenting is a nightmare as far as I can tell).
ReplyDeleteDo it all Annie. Don't give up blogging. I've only just come back!
ReplyDeleteI like Tumblr GSE, but I like the words. I can find my own pictures, but I like the chit-chat.
ReplyDeleteRad, yes, where've you been? Slacker!
